Love stories come in all shapes and sizes, but few can say theirs began quite so early or serendipitously as this one. We’re thrilled to announce the winners of our Langstone Quays Win a £10k Wedding competition, the absolutely wonderful couple, Kelli and Matthew.
Their story sounds like it was taken straight from the pages of a romantic novel. In fact, their lives have been quietly entwined since the very moment they entered the world – on the exact same day!
Yes, you read that right.
Kelli and Matthew were born on the same day, in the same hospital, just a mere 12 hours apart. Their mothers, who shared a maternity ward, bonded instantly over their new arrivals. While baby Kelli arrived slightly earlier (a fact Matthew still teases her about), both babies unknowingly began a lifelong connection that none of them could have predicted.
After leaving the hospital, their mums stayed in touch and even attended each other’s christenings. Somewhere in the blur of baby rattles and shared family snapshots, tiny Kelli and Matthew featured in each other’s lives but without ever knowing it.
Fast forward a couple of decades, and the story takes a delightful twist.
Despite growing up just a short distance apart and even attending the same school, Kelli and Matthew never truly crossed paths, at least not in a way that either remembers. It wasn’t until much later in life, after they had already started dating, that they discovered the astonishing truth.
“We were talking about our birthdays and realised we were both born on the same day,” Kelli shared, “And then the more we talked, the more we realised how much history we actually shared.”
Old family photo albums provided the final, almost magical pieces of the puzzle. There they were baby Kelli and baby Matthew, in the background of each other’s special moments.
And when that moment came, everything fell into place.
Their love story is more than just charming, it’s a reminder that sometimes, life has a bigger plan. From cradle to couplehood, Kelli and Matthew’s journey is full of those rare, heartwarming coincidences that make you believe in fate.
