Suffolk Show - May

Dating back as far as 1832 this agricultural show celebrates the rich heritage and industry of Suffolk. With a diverse range of attractions and activities there's never a dull moment at the show with something for everyone.

  • Anything can happen in the Grand Ring from show jumping or the RAF Falcons Parachute Display Team, to sheep judging and a Shetland pony grand national.
  • Visit the Sports Village and test your agility on the inflatable climbing wall or marvel at the beauty of the Flowers and Garden Show.
  • Take the children to the Farm Discovery Zone where they can groom a pony, watch the mountain goats climb, make dough balls, watch cows being milked and meet a sheep.
  • Listen to music, shop in the pop-up shops, ride the Helter Skelter, marvel at the size of the tractors and so much more.

Aldeburgh Music festival - June

Snape Maltings sits on the bank of the River Alde, just 10 miles from Ufford Park Resort. Built in 1841 it was originally used to malt barley for shipping to London. In 1965 Benjamin Britten, looking for a larger venue for the Aldeburgh Festival of Music and the Arts, leased the largest of the buildings and converted it into the world renowned, 810 seat, Snape Maltings Concert Hall.

Every June since 1948, The Aldeburgh Festival has seen a pilgrimage of classical music lovers gathering at Snape Maltings to witness new commissions, world-premieres and international stars performing in this spectacular venue.

The Aldeburgh Festival has always included the visual arts as well as music, and a number of exhibitions are curated each year to accompany the music programme.

Latitude - July

Set in the 4.200 acres of stunning parkland at Henham Park, near Southwold, Latitude is the biggest of the festivals in the area. With entertainment from Thursday evening through to Sunday afternoon you are assured to be entertained by the very best in music, dance, comedy, poetry, theatre, literature, podcasts, family activities and wellness.

This highly anticipated event on the UK’s festival calendar was founded by the renowned arts venue, Riverside Studios in London, in 2006. The festival’s unique atmosphere and commitment to creating a family friendly experience has become a critical element to its identity. You will find many industry legends performing on the many stages from Tom Jones to The Pet Shop Boys and Eddie Izzard, but Latitude also has a reputation for featuring diverse musical acts including up-and-coming artists.

Maverick Festival - July

According to their website they are the “The UK’s first and finest Americana music festival” and have been “kicking since 2008”. Just 15 minutes drive away from Ufford Park Resort, through some beautiful Suffolk countryside, Easton Farm Park is host the Maverick Festival. Set amongst the restored Victorian barns and outbuildings, the music, dance demonstrations and music masterclasses run across six stages from Friday evening to Sunday afternoon.

Folk East – August

Having been held just down the road from Ufford Park in the beautiful grounds of 16th century Glemham Hall for many years, the Folk East Festival will now (from 2025) be held in the stunning, wooded parkland of the Sotterley Estate a 45 minute drive away.

This family friendly festival is all about folk music and dancing. With various music, dance and art workshops there is plenty to keep the young and the old busy. The Morris displays, workshops and dance-outs are always popular, as are the Ceilidhs and dances from around the world which everyone can join in.

Framlingham Country Show - August

Every August the lovely town of Framlingham, home to Ed Sheeran’s ‘Castle on the Hill’, comes alive. Set in the grounds of Framlingham College, just on the edge of the village, there is a variety of demos, talks and entertainment. In the past chefs and foragers have given live demos and talks, there has been a classic car show, falconry on horseback, chain saw carving, fire juggling, BMX stunt teams, a circus, barrel racing, a dog show, and artisan food and drink. As if that is not enough to keep everyone busy, there is also a kid’s area where you can watch your children and grandchildren meet superheroes, and ride donkeys. A real family day out in this historic little town.

Aldeburgh Food and Drink Festival - September

Rated one of the UK’s best food festivals, this event celebrates Suffolk’s food and drink providers and its rich farming heritage. With a fabulous setting at Snape Maltings, a mix of local and celebrity chefs giving live demos, and lots of local producer and trader stands the adults are well catered for. With family and healthy eating in mind there are also children’s activities where the Under 5s are encouraged to plant seeds, and make a health snack, while the craft area and mini cookery classes keep older children engaged.

Snape Maltings is home to a collection of independent shops, which are open all year round, selling hardware, furniture, clothing, ceramics, plants, arts and crafts as well a couple of cafes and a pub, all of whom are involved in this lovely weekend

Suffolk is host to so many more festivals such as the Dragon Fest in Bury St Edmunds, the Balloon Festival in Old Buckenham, Norwich and the First light Festival on the beach in Lowestoft. These three festivals are only an hours drive away from your comfy bed here at Ufford Park.

Be sure to book your room so that you don’t miss out on a good nights sleep.
